Accreditation
life experience degrees accredited universities
Almeda University is accredited by several private accreditation organizations.
Each of the organizations that accredits Almeda University has different policies and procedures regarding the value of their accreditation. The purpose of the accreditation of these organizations is to ensure the applicant that Almeda University maintains various policies, procedures, and business acumen.
The accreditation by these agencies does not specifically guarantee that the Almeda University degree will be universally accepted. Private accreditation differs from regional accreditation in that regional accreditation is associated with the United States Department of Education.
Accreditation is a voluntary process and the accreditation agencies that are recognized by the US Department of Education all are subject to ensuring each of their accredited schools meet certain requirements. Part of the requirements include some mandatory matriculation and testing by proctor.
Historically, regionally accredited universities were required to allow no more than 10 percent of coursework through experiential aspects. Through organizations such as CAEL, traditionally accredited universities are now able to account for slightly increased percentages of experiential crediting. The burden of proof of student credentials is often provided by essays, CLEP testing, and detailed reporting of experience and knowledge. Often times the documentation of knowledge for experiential crediting in traditional universities is nearly as demanding as the course itself. Opportunistic student applicants repeatedly become disenchanted by the lengthy process required to document such knowledge for each course. Furthermore, traditional universities charge ‘per credit’ fees for these courses regardless of whether the student has been able to prove their credentialing for experiential credits.
Almeda University is bound by different rules that require a less elaborate and convoluted documentation of experiences and knowledge.
More specifically the accreditation of Almeda University is aimed toward ensuring integrity of its programs and providing full disclosure to its applicants. Almeda supports full disclosure and maintains all processes and policies set forth by its accreditation agencies.
